Adelphi University has elected Christopher D. Saridakis ’90, chief executive officer of GSI Commerce Inc.’s (Nasdaq: GSIC) Global Marketing Services division, to its Board of Trustees. GSI provides e-commerce and digital marketing services to more than 500 retailers and brands. He will serve on the Board’s advancement and finance committees.

“Joining the Board of Trustees offers me the opportunity to continue to support my alma mater,” said Mr. Saridakis. “I am proud of the University, its role as a relevant and engaged regional partner, and its ongoing commitment to student success. I am honored to join the Board.”

“On behalf of my colleagues, it is a privilege to welcome Mr. Saridakis to the Board,” said Adelphi University Board of Trustees Chairman Thomas F. Motamed ’71. “At a time where technology and communications are changing so rapidly, we are confident Chris will add extraordinary professional experience and valuable skills to the University.”

Mr. Saridakis joined GSI Commerce as chief executive officer of its Global Marketing Services division in May 2010. In this role, he oversees GSI’s existing marketing services businesses, e-Dialog, an email marketing provider, and TrueAction, a digital agency, and is responsible for running the company’s overall marketing services strategy. He joined GSI from Gannett Co., Inc. where he served as senior vice president and chief digital officer since 2008 and head of Gannett Marketing Services. Prior to joining Gannett, Mr. Saridakis was CEO of PointRoll, and helped build the company into the leader in rich media, serving the world’s top creative and media ad agencies. He has also served as senior vice president and general manager of DoubleClick’s Global TechSolution division.

Mr. Saridakis received his B.A. in economics from Adelphi in 1990. In 2010, he was named the Outstanding Alumnus at the University’s 10th annual President’s Gala, the University’s major annual fundraiser for student scholarships. He lives in Wilmington, Delaware, with his wife and four children.
