TradeStation Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRAD) is a trading technology company which operates through two operating subsidiaries: TradeStation Securities, Inc. (TradeStation Securities), which is an online broker-dealer and futures commission merchant, and TradeStation Technologies, Inc. (TradeStation Technologies), which is a trading technology company.
The Company’s third subsidiary, TradeStation Europe Limited, holds what is known as a Passport to introduce brokerage accounts for residents of countries within the European Economic Area. The company’s core product and service, which is offered by TradeStation Securities, is TradeStation, an electronic trading platform that enables traders to test and automate rule-based trading strategies, both with technical and fundamental disciplines, across multiple asset classes, namely, equities, equity and index options, electronic futures markets and foreign currencies (forex).
Today, Salomon Sredni, CEO of TradeStation Group has explicitly stated the company’s strategy is to focus on the small and mid-size hedge funds whose prime brokerage services have become increasingly unaffordable from the large firms.
