I Am A Stalker CEO
I must admit I’m a stalker CEO. Not in the creepy kind of sitting outside her house of fashion. However, I must admin I drive by Warren Buffet’s office and home have some time. If I say I’m a stalker I’m more of a fan. I am someone who loves to get inside the mind of a great CEO (or CEO type person). I read as much as possible about them, I see all the interviews, I track the performance of their companies and much more. Some CEO’s are very difficult to follow and some are very easy to follow. Some have spoken of and some value their privacy. Some of the CEOs I love to follow are Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Jamie Dimon, Jason Fried, David Heinemeier Meier Hansson, T Boone Pickens, Brad Feld and Jason Mendelson, Jim Cramer, Jack Welch, Tony Hsieh, Gary Vaynerchuk, George Soros, Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs and many more. I mention all these guys, because they are all over the board. Not one of these guys are the same in a way. Some are really successful and she found fame, some are famous only tell you they are successful (and they are clear, but we could not know if they had not told us), some of these guys were very successful with the marketing to push objects around their wares. Each of these guys and many more are worth studying and understanding. They are wired in a special way.
The Know-It-All CEOThe Long Time Great CEO
I feel the truly great CEO’s do not know-it-all ‘s, they have a large processor of information. Are you really believe they can not know everything. There are more and more to process information. The less know-it-all CEO’s are not answered questions directly. They could give you some big picture guiding principle, but they will also explain what factors contribute to the question you asked. A great CEO, in my view may not know the answer but knows all the possible inputs and knows all the possible outcomes. A great CEO is a sponge of knowledge. I think a great CEO can be adjusted every absorbed knowledge and processes them together in a case study type fashion and a decision. So many CEOs was lucky and had some big decisions that they got where they are today. The big ones just use the first few lucky decisions as further input stream and to continue searching other input streams as well.
The CEO of the I most admire have a very wide range of interests and work every day to absorb more and more knowledge of where it comes from always. They see experience as just another form of knowledge. A great CEO is interested in talking to you how to use them in conversation. They realize that they learn something from everyone. The real power is the ability to process and determine the best result. Not live on the wave of past success.
